On January 13, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a Laredo Sector Border Patrol agent was working his assigned duties near Lowry Drive and Father McNaboe Park when he encountered a Green Ford Expedition picking up a group of suspected illegal aliens. While the agent attempted to apprehend the subjects, the driver of the vehicle attempted to strike the agent with the vehicle, prompting the agent to fire his Service weapon at the driver to stop the assault. The driver fled the scene and the suspect vehicle was later found in south Laredo. There were no injuries reported in this incident.
