History

Three Points Station was established in January 2011 as a satellite station under the Casa Grande Station in Robles Junction – Three Points, Arizona.  Three Points was staffed with 86 agents detailed from Casa Grande Station and various Texas sectors.  Operations initially entailed a checkpoint and 7.5 border miles within the rough terrain of the Baboquivari Mountains.  In 2012, Three Points was transitioned to the purview of Tucson Station and officially classified as a substation.  The original staff of 86 detailed agents were phased out and replaced with a permanent staff of over 200 agents by late 2015.  Three Points became an official station on October 16, 2018.

Area of Responsibility

Agents patrol 15.79 miles of international border within the Tohono O'odham Nation, from the Baboquivari Mountains in the east to the Alvarez Mountains in the west.  Operations are supported by a Motorcycle Unit, ATVs, a Mountain/FLEX Team, and Sensor Team.
