Border Patrol Agents Arrest Sex Offender in the Rio Grande Valley

Release Date
Mon, 08/31/2020

PENITAS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents identify a local sex offender attempting to illegally re-enter the United States.

Yesterday afternoon, agents working near Penitas, Texas arrested a group of 11 illegal aliens attempting to enter the United States. While processing the group, record checks on one of the subjects, later identified as Porfirio Martinez-Santos, revealed a previous arrest in McAllen, Texas for indecency with a child by sexual contact. A judge found the man guilty and sentenced him to three years confinement.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.  The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
