OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from the El Centro Sector successfully located two men who were lost in the desert near Ocotillo Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., El Centro Sector Radio Communications Dispatch received a call from Imperial County Sheriff's Office communications of a distress call from two men who had made an illegal entry into the United States, stating they were lost and did not have any water. Border Patrol agents began a rescue operation provided only with GPS coordinates from the phone call.

Agents encountered two men on Highway 98, near Ocotillo, at approximately 4:21 p.m. The agents determined it was the men who had placed the distress call.  The two men appeared to be in good health, requiring no medical attention.  Agents provided cold water and took them into custody.

Both men were determined to be illegal aliens from Mexico and were transported to the El Centro Station immigration rally point where they were expelled back to Mexico.
