Border Patrol Agents Seize Methamphetamine

CALEXICO, Calif. – El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents prevented multiple smuggling attempts of methamphetamine.

The first incident occurred Wednesday at approximately 11:01 p.m., near the intersection of Andrade Avenue and First Street. Agents working in the area found two electrical-tape wrapped packages lying on the ground. The packages’ contents yielded a positive result for the characteristics of methamphetamine when tested with a narcotics test kit.

little more than 4 pounds of methamphetamine
Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
 

The total weight of the methamphetamine discovered was approximately 2.1 pounds with an estimated value of $4,725.

The second incident occurred Thursday morning at approximately 4:17 a.m., near the intersection of G. Anaya and Second Street. Remote Video Surveillance Operators notified agents of packages thrown over the border wall from Mexico. Agents responded and found two electrical-tape wrapped packages lying on the ground.

The agents seized and transported the packages back to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing.

At the station, the packages tested positive for the characteristics of methamphetamine. The total weight was 2 pounds with an estimated street value of $4,500.

El Centro Sector turned over the narcotic packages to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
