Border Patrol Apprehends Previously Deported Felon, Paisas Gang Member

OCOTILLO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a gang member Monday morning.

from Mexico, is a documented Paisas gang member
with an extensive criminal history.

The incident occurred at around 9:05 a.m., when agents assigned to the El Centro Station apprehended a man in the Jacumba Wilderness approximately 29 miles west of the Calexico Port of Entry.  The man was transported to the El Centro Station for immigration and criminal history screening.

Agents conducted records checks, which revealed that the man, a 42-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, is a documented Paisas gang member with an extensive criminal history.  He was convicted multiple times for felony narcotics possession as well as vehicle theft.  In total, he was sentenced to over eight years incarceration for his numerous convictions.  He committed these crimes in San Luis Obispo and Sacramento respectively.

Additionally, an immigration judge formally removed the illegal alien on Aug. 30, 2010 in Eloy, Arizona, back to Mexico.

The gang member is being held in federal custody for criminal prosecution.
