International Falls, Minn. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection wishes to inform the public that the inspection station at Ely, Minn., will be changing its summer hours of operation starting July 11.
Effective July 11, the hours of operation for the inspection station at Ely, Minn., will be as follows:
Ely Station
8 a.m. to 12 p.m. CST and 1 to 5 p.m. CST, seven days a week

"CBP remains committed to maintaining a presence in the Boundary Waters area. This realignment in hours will result in a more efficient use of valuable resources while still providing service to the area," said Kris Lessard, area port director for International Falls.
The Ely border station is located in the Boundary Water Canoe Area. There are no roads into or out of Canada in this remote wilderness area. All travel into and from Canada is by small boat, canoe, kayak and aircraft.
