CBP Arrests Homicide Suspect at San Ysidro Port

San Ysidro, Calif. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Ysidro port of entry this morning apprehended a man wanted for homicide by the Stockton Police Department, out of Northern California.

Today, at about 4 a.m., 21-year-old Roberto Elias entered the San Ysidro border station as a pedestrian. The officer conducted a routine query of law enforcement databases that revealed he was wanted and escorted him for further investigation.

Further systems checks and fingerprint verification revealed that Elias was the subject of an outstanding felony warrant for homicide, with bail set at $1 million.

Elias, a U.S. citizen and resident of Stockton, Calif., was arrested and booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
