International Falls, Minn. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection wishes to inform the public that the Inspection Station at Crane Lake, Minn., will revise their hours of operation in accordance with the summer tourist season. The Inspection Station at Ely, Minn., will open for the 2010 summer tourist season on May 15.
Effective May 15, the hours of operation for the Inspection Stations at Crane Lake and Ely, Minn., will be as follows:

Crane Lake and Ely, Minn., border stations are located in Boundary Water Canoe Area and Voyageurs National Park. There are no roads into or out of Canada in this remote wilderness area. All travel into and from Canada is by small boat, canoe, kayak, snowmobile and aircraft.
The Crane Lake, Minn., inspection station is operational 365 days a year with reduced hours during the winter. The Ely, Minn., inspection station is a seasonal operation; open during the summer tourist season, May to September.
