CBP Mourns Loss of Miami Officer

MIAMI - It is with great sadness that U.S. Customs and Border Protection shares the tragic news of the death of CBP Officer Marc Izquierdo. CBP Officer Izquierdo was involved in a single vehicle motorcycle accident early Sunday morning while traveling Northbound on the Palmetto expressway, and tragically died of injuries sustained in the accident.

CBP Officer Marc Izquierdo was 53 years old and was retired from the Navy before he became a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer at the Miami International Airport where he has worked since 2005.

CBP Officer Izquierdo was a valued member of the CBP family in South Florida and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and co-workers. Please join CBP in offering sympathy and condolences to the family, loved ones, friends, and co-workers of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Marc Izquierdo.

Funeral arrangements for Officer Izquierdo will be released later today.
