CBP Officers to Provide Training on Steel and NAFTA in Montana

Sweetgrass, Mont. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection wishes to inform the trade community that CBP officers will provide steel importation training and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) training on Wednesday May 5, 2010. The training will be held at the Sweetgrass American Legion Hall in Sweetgrass.

The steel importation training is for customs brokers or filers, importers, exporters and manufacturers. The training will cover classification, antidumping, countervailing duty cases and processes. This training will also cover country of origin, conferring operations, marking, mill certificates and scrap or used products.

CBP will also provide NAFTA training that will cover completion of the NAFTA certificate of origin, NAFTA qualifying operations, tariff shift, regional value content, and record keeping requirements.

Those individuals interested in attending the free training are requested to contact Import Specialist Kristina Nelson at (701) 825-6201 ext. 232 or send an email to kristina.nelson@dhs.gov by Friday, April 23. The steel training will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and the NAFTA training will be from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Sweetgrass American Legion Hall is located at 125 Central Avenue in Sweetgrass.
