CHIEF MOUNTAIN, Mont. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations announces the winter closing of the Chief Mountain Port of Entry (POE) in Montana. The port will close at 6:00 p.m. MDT on Wednesday, September 30. Canada Border Services Agency will also close their Port of Chief Mountain, Alberta, on September 30 at 6:00 p.m.

Great Falls Area Port Director Daniel Escobedo said, “During the summer of 2015, CBP officers at the Chief Mountain Port of Entry processed thousands of travelers arriving into the United States from all over the world, giving many their first opportunity to see the beauty of this area and view its wildlife.”

The Chief Mountain POE will re-open on May 15, 2016.
