Mackinac Island Vessel Reporting Station to Close for the Season

Sault Ste Marie, Mich. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Sault Sainte Marie is announcing the closure of the Mackinac Island reporting station for the 2010 summer boating season.

With the beginning of autumn, boating traffic has come to a standstill and the Mackinac Island reporting station will close, and the Outlying Area Reporting System (OARS) video phone will be removed, on Nov. 1.

Boaters entering the United States in the Mackinac Island area after Nov. 1 can report to George Kemp Marina in Sault Ste Marie by calling (906) 632-8822.
