Release Date

Tucson, Ariz. - U.S. Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Casa Grande Station apprehended an illegal alien Tuesday with a criminal history involving voluntary manslaughter and indecency with a child. Agents learned of the man's criminal history after he was enrolled into the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS).

The man was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Correctional System. He received four years probation for his "indecency with a child" conviction. The subject is being held for processing.

IAFIS technology assists agents in identifying these and other criminal aliens in custody. This tool also helps the U.S. Border Patrol to enhance the quality of life in communities by bringing criminal aliens to an appropriate law enforcement resolution, including removing them from the United States.
