Agents Arrest Illegal Alien Convicted for Sexual Assault

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents from the Three Points station apprehended a Guatemalan national Tuesday morning for illegally entering the United States and later discovered he was convicted for assault and sexual assault in Connecticut.

While processing Guilebaldo Ramos-Mendez, 34, agents conducted a records check and learned he was convicted in New Haven for first and third degree assault, as well as sexual assault, in 2006.

Ramos is being held in federal custody pending prosecution for criminal immigration violations.
