EDINBURG, Texas – Within 10 hours, Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens with criminal history related to sexual crimes against children.

Friday night, Brownsville agents arrested two subjects shortly after they illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks for one of the men, later identified as a Mexican national, revealed a previous arrest by the Cameron County Sheriff's Office (CCSO). CCSO charged Jose Antonio SALAZAR-Navarro with indecency with a child/sexual contact. A judge sentenced him to 77 months incarceration. Additionally, his record revealed multiple arrest including resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated and several immigration violations.

The following morning, McAllen agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, arrested a Honduran national moments after he illegally entered the United States. During processing, record checks for the man later identified as Brayan Javier PALOMO-Osorio, revealed a previous arrest by the Denton County Sheriff’s Office for sexual assault of a child.  PALOMO-Osorio received two years confinement for the crime.

Border Patrol processed both subjects accordingly.

The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.  The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
