Border Patrol Agents Intercept Marijuana Smuggling Attempt at Checkpoint near Hebbronville, Texas

LAREDO, Texas – On August 8, 2018, Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Hebbronville Station seized 207 pounds of marijuana at the checkpoint located on Farm to Market Road 1017 near Hebbronville, Texas.  

The narcotics were found concealed inside a false compartment of the rear diesel tank located in the bed of the truck after the vehicle was referred to secondary.  A total of 17 bundles were discovered worth an estimated $165,792.  Border Patrol agents arrested the driver, a United States citizen.  The driver, vehicle, and marijuana were turned over to the Jim Hogg County Sheriff’s Office.
