Border Patrol Agents Stop Box Truck Smuggling Attempt

LAREDO, Texas – Border Patrol agents assigned to the Interstate Highway 35 Border Patrol Checkpoint prevented a human smuggling attempt of 15 illegal aliens.

On September 20, the event emerged after the driver of box truck consented to a non-intrusive scan utilizing an x-ray machine.  During the non-intrusive scan, a Border Patrol agent observed anomalies within the cargo area of the box truck.  Upon further inspection, Border Patrol agents discovered 15 individuals under a plastic cover. 

The 15 male subjects were found in good health and determined to be illegally present in the United States.  The individuals were from the countries of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Brazil.  The driver, a United States citizen, and 15 illegal aliens was arrested and processed accordingly.
