Border Patrol Agents Thwart Smuggling Attempts and Apprehend Foot Guides

MARFA, Texas – Big Bend Sector Border Patrol Agents made multiple significant arrests this past week.

On June 8, Presidio Border Patrol Station Agents apprehended a Pakistani national illegally present in the United States.

On June 10, Marfa Border Patrol Station Agents and Van Horn Border Patrol Station Agents apprehended two separate groups attempting to enter the country illegally.  During processing agents were able to identify the foot guides for each group. Both foot guides were referred to Big Bend Sector prosecutions.

On June 11, Sierra Blanca Border Patrol Station Agents assigned to the IH-10 checkpoint encountered a SUV containing six duffle bags filled with just over 180 pounds of marijuana.

 Additionally, over the past week, Big Bend Sector Agents thwarted nine Undocumented Non-Citizen smuggling attempts leading to the arrest of 65 individuals.

All subjects were processed accordingly.
