MISSION, Texas – Yesterday, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen station, along with an Air and Marine Operations helicopter, halted a smuggling attempt.
Agents conducting operations south of Mission, Texas observed multiple subjects loading into a mini-van near the Rio Grande. Shortly after, agents reported that the vehicle was departing the area at a high rate of speed.
As agents attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, the driver failed to yield to their emergency equipment. Air Interdiction Agents in an Air and Marine Operations helicopter responded and followed the vehicle until the driver stopped and attempted to abscond. Agents immediately arrested the United States citizen driver and discovered eight illegal aliens from China and Mexico within the vehicle.
All subjects will be processed accordingly.
