LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) responded to information leading to the rescue of three illegal aliens held against their will in a local hotel.
“This rescue illustrates the close partnership and determination from law enforcement in Laredo to bring to justice those who pose harm and danger to people. We will continue to work together to protect our communities and prevent people from being subjected to dangerous, deplorable situations,” said Laredo Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens.
On August 27, the Laredo Police Department provided information to Border Patrol agents regarding a 911 call from a concerned citizen whose relatives were being held against their will. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Joint Task Force-West, South Texas Corridor, Joint Targeting Team in coordination with Homeland Security Investigations conducted a knock and talk at a hotel. Agents discovered three illegal aliens being held by two U.S. citizens and recovered a handgun.
The case was turned over to HSI for prosecution.
