EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector (RGV) agents arrest two previously convicted sex offenders.
Yesterday afternoon, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents working in Hidalgo, Texas, apprehended a group of ninety migrants after they illegally entered the United States. Among the group was Manuel Dejesus Trejo-Escobar. The Salvadoran national’s criminal record checks revealed he is a registered sex offender in Fairfax, Virginia, for aggravated sexual battery. He was subsequently, removed from the United States.
Yesterday evening, Weslaco Border Patrol Station (WSL) agents responded to a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper vehicle stop in Weslaco, Texas. Agents responded and determined the subject to be a national of Mexico. Record checks on Juan Gerardo Reyna revealed he was previously arrested by the Elsa, Texas, Police Department for sexual assault of a child and sentenced to 10 years confinement. Additionally, he has criminal convictions dating back to 1997, to include, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault against a public servant.
Border Patrol processed the subjects accordingly.
