Border Patrol Arrests Convicted Attempted Murderer Re-entering the U.S.

CALEXICO, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a convicted felon Monday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:39 p.m., when agents assigned to the Calexico Border Patrol Station observed a man illegally enter the United States. Agents placed the man under arrest and transported him to the El Centro Sector Rally Point for further processing.

Records checks revealed that the man, a 34-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, had a conviction on November 1, 2013, for “Attempted Murder” and “Voluntary Manslaughter” out of Los Angeles. The man was sentenced to 2 and 11 years in prison for his crimes. 

The illegal alien is being held in federal custody pending criminal prosecution for 8 USC 1326 illegal entry after deportation, a felony.
