Border Patrol Captures Another Convicted Sex Offender

U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Station arrested a convicted sex offender, Sept. 22.

Agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Station arrested Israel Picon-Monzon, 31, a citizen of Guatemala, shortly after he entered the United States illegally. During processing, agents discovered that Picon-Monzon was convicted of Sexual Penetration of a Minor (upon person 13 or older but under 16 years of age) in Lovington, New Mexico in 2009 and sentenced to 36 months incarceration.

 

Picon-Monzon was most recently removed from the United States in 2012.

 

As a convicted felon, he faces a charge of 8 USC § 1326 – Re-entry after Deportation, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
