Border Patrol Encounters Woman in Stolen Vehicle

MECCA, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested an woman driving a stolen vehicle on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:35 p.m., when agents received information that a stolen silver 2017 Ford Taurus was in their vicinity.  Agents assigned to the Highway 111 checkpoint responded and intercepted a vehicle matching the description.

Agents performed a vehicle stop on Highway 111 and Colfax Street on a possible match.  After a brief investigation, agents confirmed the vehicle was stolen and arrested the 29-year-old female driver. The driver was determined to be a United States citizen and transferred custody of her and the stolen vehicle to the California Highway Patrol.
