FALFURRIAS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued two subjects suffering severe heat-related illness.

Last night, agents actively tracking a group of illegal aliens in Brooks County suspended their search after encountering an unresponsive woman and a severely dehydrated man. A Border Patrol Agent Emergency Medical Technician (BPA/EMT) immediately requested Emergency Medical Services (EMS) while treating both subjects. Due to the remote location of the incident, agents transported both subjects to a nearby location accessible to the EMS ambulance. EMS transported both subjects to a local medical facility for further treatment.

The Rio Grande Valley Sector currently has multiple campaigns focused on rescues and danger awareness, such as “Operation Big Rig” and “No Se Arriesgue” to combat smuggling and ultimately save lives. Call 911 to report suspicious activity; “They’re humans, not cargo!”
