CBP Announces Temporary Hours of Operation at Two Vermont Ports of Entry

Release Date
Thu, 07/23/2020

St. Albans, Vt. – As a result of restrictions on non-essential travel along the northern border, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will temporarily reduce the hours of operation at the Alburg Springs and Rt. 5-Derby Line ports of entry along the Vermont/Quebec border effective immediately.

Alburg Springs will now operate daily from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Eastern.

Rt. 5-Derby Line will now operate daily from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Eastern.

CBP adjusted the hours of operation at the ports to better align services and resources during the COVID-19 travel restrictions along land borders. The determination of new hours was made following a review of traffic and operations, and was made in coordination with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). These reductions of hours will remain in place until the Administration lifts the current travel restrictions. CBP will return to previous hours once the COVID-19 emergency has subsided.

The nearby Derby Line/I-91 port of entry and Alburg port of entry will continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days per week. Travelers considered essential should adjust their travel according to the new hours of operation.
