MISSION, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Anzalduas International Bridge apprehended Jose Bladimir Macias Cardenas, a male Mexican citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident from McAllen, Texas who had a felony arrest warrant associated with child-related sex crimes.
“CBP Field Operations is always ready to assist our law enforcement partners by apprehending travelers with outstanding warrants, especially those allegedly involved in heinous crimes of a sexual nature with children,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/Pharr/ Anzalduas.

On August 27, 2021, the 33-year-old man arrived from Mexico at the Anzalduas International Bridge and a CBP officer immediately secured him after discovering Macias was a possible match to an arrest warrant. Once in secondary, biometric verification confirmed his identity along with the active arrest warrant from the McAllen Police Department. Macias is wanted for sex crimes involving a minor. He is charged with indecency with a child which is a second-degree felony.
A McAllen police officer arrived to take custody of Macias and transported him to the county jail. Macias was paroled into the U.S. to face the pending charges and faces possible return to federal custody/removal upon final adjudication of the charges.
Criminal charges are merely allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
