Brownsville, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers and Border Patrol agents working at the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville, Texas today apprehended a Mexican male wanted on outstanding warrant from Osceola, Florida for tampering with a witness, battery and violation of an injunction of communication or contact in a family violence case.

In secondary, checks of a CBP database identified Maurilio Perez as the subject of active arrest warrants from the Osceola Sheriff's Office in Osceola, Florida. Maurilio Perez has an active warrant for tampering with a witness, battery and violation of an injunction of communication or contact in a family violence case.
Perez was arrested and subsequently turned over to the custody of the Cameron County Sheriff's Office. Maurilio Perez was transported to the Carrizales-Rucker County Jail where he remains incarcerated pending extradition to Osceola, Florida to face pending charges.
"CBP officers and Border Patrol agents continue to make arrests and take wanted subjects off the streets. A unified commitment to border security has proven successful with yet another arrest of a wanted person as he attempted to leave the country. This is a good arrest by our CBP officers and agents and another example of the great work being done on the border," said Michael Freeman, CBP port director, Brownsville.
