CBP Officers in Brownsville Arrest Houston Man Wanted on Felony Warrant for Aggravated Assault of a Family Member

Brownsville, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Brownsville Port of Entry apprehended a man on a warrant for felony aggravated assault of a family member charge from the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Houston, Texas.

On March 3, CBP officers at the Gateway International Bridge referred Juan Manuel Longoria, age 33, a U.S. citizen and resident of Houston, Texas for a secondary examination. A CBP officer's checks of a CBP database identified Juan Manuel Longoria as the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant from Harris County, Houston, Texas. Pending charges against Longoria were confirmed for felony aggravated assault of a family member. CBP officers arrested Longoria and subsequently turned him over to the custody of the Cameron County Sheriff's Office. Longoria was transported to the Carrizales-Rucker county jail where he remains incarcerated pending extradition to Houston, Texas to face pending charges.

"CBP officers strive to secure our borders and have apprehended another wanted fugitive at our border. This fugitive will be extradited to Houston to face his pending felony charges. I commend our officers for a great job with this arrest," said Michael Freeman, CBP Port Director, Brownsville Port of Entry.
