EAGLE PASS, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at Eagle Pass Port of Entry’s railroad bridge apprehended a previously removed Honduran citizen with a prior sex-related conviction against a child.
“Our CBP officers exercised their vigilance and apprehended a previously removed man allegedly attempting to enter the U.S. without inspection at the railroad bridge and discovered a prior conviction for a sex-related offense against a child,” said Port Director Pete Beattie, Eagle Pass Port of Entry. “Apprehensions like these reinforce and aptly illustrate the importance of CBP’s border security mission and efforts to keep our communities safe.”
On Jan. 13, CBP officers at the international railroad bridge conducting non-intrusive inspection system scans of incoming railcars noted anomalies in a railcar hauling automobiles. Upon further examination, CBP officers discovered a 29-year-old male Honduran citizen with no valid entry documents within the railcar. Further review revealed that the individual had been previously removed and had a prior felony conviction for indecency with a child (sexual contact). CBP officers arrested the man for alleged re-entry after prior removal.
