EAGLE PASS, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers seized hard narcotics in one enforcement action.
“In an effort to secure our Nation’s borders, as this narcotics seizure clearly illustrates, CBP has implemented enforcement strategies that have furthered the disruption of dangerous drugs entering the country,” said Port Director Paul Del Rincon, Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

The seizure occurred on Thursday, July 29th when a CBP officer assigned to the Camino Real International Bridge referred a 2004 Ford F-150 for secondary inspection. The vehicle was driven by a 31-year-old male U.S. citizen traveling from Mexico. Following a non-intrusive imaging system examination along with a K-9 inspection and physical inspection of the vehicle, a total of 10 packages containing 24.82 pounds of alleged cocaine was discovered concealed within the dashboard of the vehicle. The cocaine has an estimated street value of $191,420.
CBP seized the narcotics, vehicle and arrested the driver. The case was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.
