Lukeville, Ariz. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized almost 230 pounds of Marijuana discovered in a Ford F-150 Wednesday as it attempted to enter the United States through the Lukeville, Ariz. port of entry.
CBP processing travelers coming from Mexico noticed discrepancies to the Ford F-150 being driven by the 22-year old man and utilized a narcotic detector dog, which alerted to the smell of narcotics within the truck.
The man was taken into custody and a thorough inspection ensured which resulted in a positive X-ray. Officers extracted marijuana packages from the gasoline tank and quarter panels of the truck with a total weight of 228.49 pounds.
The man was arrested and the marijuana and truck seized. The marijuana has an approximate street value of $365,587.
