Construction at Pacific Highway Port of Entry Commencing October 19, Expect Delays

BLAINE, Wash. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations is advising travelers that the Pacific Highway Port of Entry (POE) will undergo repaving of the cargo exit lane beginning Monday, October 19. Travelers utilizing the Pacific Highway POE should expect delays during construction.

“CBP is committed to maintaining the highest service standards possible. Sometimes that requires infrastructure enhancements and construction that cause delays. CBP makes every effort to mitigate these impacts to the greatest extent possible,” said Area Port Director Gregory Alvarez.

The exit lane will be repaved from the cargo processing area through the cargo exit to State Route 543, also known as Pacific Highway. During the repaving process, commercial traffic will co-mingle with passenger vehicles exiting, therefore limiting the traffic volume capability which will impact arrival and departure times.

A second phase of the repaving project will begin in the future once the exit lane is completed. When additional details are available on the second phase of repaving, they will be distributed.

Monitor wait times on the internet or via a mobile app named, “CBP Border Wait Times.”
