Convicted Sex Offender and Two Gang Members Arrested by USBP

EDINBURG, Texas – McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents arrest two gang members and a convicted child sex offender.

On Jan. 28, MCS agents working near Hidalgo, Texas, arrested eight migrants after they entered the United States illegally. During processing, Carlos AGUILAR-Mendoza was identified as a registered sexual offender. In 2010, the 30-year-old man was arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child. The crime was committed in Harris County, Texas. The Mexican national was sentenced 10 years’ probation along with three years confinement. AGUILAR-Mendoza was previously removed from the United States multiple times.

On Jan. 29, MCS agents apprehended a group of 71 migrants near La Joya. Record checks on a migrant from El Salvador revealed she is a MS-13 gang member.

This morning, MCS agents apprehended a group of 10 individuals near Hidalgo, Texas. The subjects were taken into custody and transported to the station. At the station, one of the subjects, a Mexican national admitted to being an MS-13 gang member.

Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
