FALFURRIAS, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol agents arrest a smuggler with a prior conviction for the sexual assault of a victim under the age of 11.
Last night, Falfurrias Border Patrol agents arrested a Nicaraguan national illegally present in the United States as he was attempting to circumvent an immigration checkpoint. The subject was transported to the Falfurrias Border Patrol Station for processing. Record checks conducted on the subject revealed that he, Ivan Villalobo, was arrested by the Nassau County Police Department in New York and convicted for the crime of sexual contact with individual less than 11 years old on August 16, 2013. Villalobo was sentenced to 3 years in prison and subsequently removed from the United States.
Villalobo will be prosecuted for his illegal re-entry.
