Eagle Pass Agents Arrest Marijuana Smugglers

Del Rio, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Eagle Pass Border Patrol Station seized 185 pounds of marijuana valued at $148,000 on Saturday night.

Around 7 p.m. agents working near Eagle Pass observed four subjects as they were walking from the Rio Grande River carrying three large duffle bags. When agents confronted the subjects, they dropped the duffle bags and fled toward Mexico. Agents were able to apprehend three of the four smugglers and seize the three duffle bags. The duffle bags were found to contain 90 bricks of marijuana. The contraband and subjects were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
