EAGLE PASS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector’s Eagle Pass South Station encountered a large group of undocumented migrants after they illegally entered the United States near Rosetta Orchards in Eagle Pass, March 27.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., agents apprehended a group of 187 migrants. The group included 154 individuals from Cuba and 33 from Nicaragua.

“Again, these types of encounters quickly exhaust our available resources and manpower,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens. “With large numbers like these, agents must be taken off patrol to focus on processing.”

During fiscal year 2022, Oct. 1, 2021, through Feb. 28, Del Rio Sector agents have encountered 153,271 migrants.

All subjects are processed in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection policies.

To report suspicious activity, call the Del Rio Sector’s toll-free number at 1-866-511-8727.
