Release Date
Fri, 06/09/2017

TUCSON, Ariz. – Nogales Station Border Patrol agents arrested two U.S. citizens Thursday for attempting to smuggle a male Mexican national through the immigration checkpoint on Interstate 19, near Amado.

During the primary immigration inspection, the rear passenger presented agents with a U.S. passport identifying what appeared to be a different individual. Agents referred the driver to secondary inspection and, upon further review, determined the documents were fraudulent.

Agents arrested the driver and a front passenger for human smuggling, while the rear passenger was arrested for immigration violations.
