The fugitive apprehension occurred on Saturday, February 6th, 2021 at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge. A CBP officer processing vehicle traffic arriving from Mexico, referred Salomon Hernandez Meza, a 75-year-old male Mexican citizen, a resident alien, for a secondary inspection. After escorting the passenger to secondary, subsequent biometric verification through law enforcement databases confirmed that the subject had an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated indecent liberties with a child/ sexual assault/child fondling, pursued by the Seward County Sheriff’s Office in Liberal, KS.

The warrant was confirmed to be active. CBP officers transported the wanted fugitive to Webb County Jail in Laredo, Texas to await criminal proceedings.  Criminal charges are merely allegations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
