LAREDO, Texas – On June 29, Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents encountered a white 1989 Freightliner tractor-trailer at the Border Patrol Checkpoint located at the 29-mile marker on Interstate Highway 35.

During primary inspection, the driver consented to a search of the tractor-trailer.  The driver was referred to secondary where further inspection of the sleeper area revealed two illegal aliens.  The two men were found in good health and were identified as being from the country of Mexico.  The driver, a United States Citizen, was arrested and the vehicle utilized in the smuggling event was seized by Border Patrol.  All individuals were processed accordingly.

“Human smugglers have no regard for safety, at many times placing individuals in life-threatening situations.  The U.S. Border Patrol will continue to disrupt this smuggling trend and fulfill our commitment in keeping America and it’s communities safe,” said Laredo Sector Acting Deputy Chief Patrol Agent Anthony S. Good.
