LAREDO, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents working their assigned duties interdicted a human smuggling attempt yielding the apprehension of 16 migrants.

On Oct.15, at approximately 9:50 p.m., Border Patrol agents while working their assigned duties, responded to suspicious activity by a concerned citizen call,  in the vicinity of N. Lamar Boulevard and Interamerica .  The agents noticed a parked tractor trailer that belonged to a local business and proceeded to check the trailer.

Border Patrol agents discovered undocumented non-citizens inside the locked trailer with no means of escape. Agents successfully rescued 16 migrants and were taken to the Laredo North Station for processing. Record checks revealed they were in the country illegally from Mexico.  All subjects were processed according to their individual immigration status.
