Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents Seize Over 1,000 Pounds of Marijuana

LAREDO, Texas – On October 12, 2017, Border Patrol agents seized 370 pounds of marijuana after observing several subjects loading bundles into a black Ford Explorer at the Father McNaboe Park in Laredo, Texas.  As the agents approached the area, the subjects and the driver of the vehicle absconded back to Mexico.  A total of five bundles of marijuana were recovered inside the vehicle with an estimated value of $295,680.00.  The vehicle was seized by Border Patrol and the marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The next day, on October 13, 2017, Border Patrol agents seized 374.22 pounds of marijuana after observing several subjects loading bundles into a Chevrolet Mini-van near Riverside Drive in Laredo, Texas.  As the agents approached the area, the subjects and the driver of the vehicle absconded back to Mexico.  A total of five bundles of marijuana were recovered inside the vehicle with an estimated value of $299,316.00.  The vehicle was seized by Border Patrol and the marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Also, on October 13, 2017, Border Patrol agents seized 383.3 pounds of marijuana after responding to suspicious activity near Riverside Drive in Laredo, Texas.  A total of five abandoned bundles of marijuana were recovered in the brush with an estimated value of $306,640.00.  No arrests were made and the marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
