Laredo, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol presented the Youth of the Month honorees for October at a ceremony hosted by United South High School on Wednesday, October 9.  The United States Border Patrol along with community partners, educators, and family came together to celebrate the achievements of 11 honorees, all seniors from Laredo area high schools, with the prestigious Youth of the Month Award.

“No matter how smart you are or how smart you think you are, remember that life is undefeated in making everyone stumble.  How you react from that misstep in life is how your character is measured,”said Special Operations Supervisor Rafael V. Garza.

The Border Patrol Youth of the Month program, in collaboration with community partners, has recognized Laredo’s top high school seniors for over 30 years.  At the end of the school year, 11 Youth of the Month recipients are considered for the prestigious Border Patrol Youth of the Year award that is awarded in May.
