LAREDO, TEXAS – Working together, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Hebbronville Station and Jim Hogg County Sheriff’s Office (JHCSO) deputies stopped a human smuggling attempt north of Hebbronville, Texas.
The incident occurred during the mid-morning of December 12, when agents assisted deputies with a traffic stop on State Highway 16 several miles north of the town. Agents discovered nine individuals illegally in the United States from the countries of Honduras and Mexico. They were taken into custody. The driver who was a U.S. citizen juvenile, was held and processed accordingly. JHCSO seized the vehicle utilized in the smuggling attempt.
Strong cooperation between multiple law enforcement agencies in our communities and the U.S. Border Patrol leads to the interdiction of criminal activity and successful prosecution of violators of the law.
