Meth Packages Seized by Border Patrol

CALEXICO, Calif.El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station seized packages filled with methamphetamine Monday evening. 

Agents arrived to the location and found two packages wrapped in black tape on the sidewalk approximately one-half mile east of the Downtown Calexico Port of Entry.  The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m., when Border Patrol agents responded to a citizen’s call of suspicious packages located east of Blair Avenue and First Street.

Agents arrived to the location and found two packages wrapped in black tape on the sidewalk approximately one-half mile east of the Downtown Calexico Port of Entry.  Agents determined that both packages contained a white crystal like substance and transported the packages to the Calexico Border Patrol Station for further processing.

At the station, the packages tested positive for methamphetamine, with a combined weight of 2.20 pounds and an estimated street value of $4,961.

The narcotic packages were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
