FALFURRIAS, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents discover more than 10 pounds of dangerous narcotics on a commercial bus.

Yesterday afternoon, Falfurrias agents working at the checkpoint referred a commercial bus to the secondary inspection area to conduct immigration inspections on all passengers on-board. While conducting the immigration inspections, a Border Patrol K-9 alerted to an item stored in the luggage compartment. An inspection of the item led to the discovery of more than 10 pounds of heroin worth more than $350K. Agents arrested the owner and turned the case over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Border Patrol processed the case accordingly.

The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation.  The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
