EDINBURG, Texas – Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) rescued four migrants from near triple digit temperatures.

Over the weekend, Kingsville Border Patrol Station received two separate rescue beacon activations from lost subjects near Kingsville, Texas. Agents responded to the locations and rescued two migrants. Both migrants were evaluated by station EMTs and offered medical assistance.

Yesterday, Fort Brown Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of 13 noncitizens near Brownsville, Texas. Within the group, agents discovered two females going in and out of consciousness due to heat related issues. Agents immediately provide medical assistance and requested an ambulance for the subjects. Both females were transported to a local hospital for additional medical evaluation.

In the last 45 days, RGV agents have performed over 100 heat related rescues throughout the Rio Grande Valley.  With temperatures rising in South Texas, RGV Sector urges immigrants not to jeopardize their lives by illegally entering the United States. The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and to help save lives by reporting suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.
