Sex Offender and Gang Members Arrested in the RGV

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley Sector (RGV) agents arrested a registered sex offender and four gang members over the last few days.

On May 2, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents processed a Salvadoran national female whose record checks revealed she is a Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang member. Her criminal history includes an arrest in Washington D.C. for assault with a deadly weapon (baseball bat), and possession with intent to distribute narcotics in her home country. Additionally, she was sentenced to 10 months’ incarceration for being in the U.S. after deportation in 2018.

The next day, MCS agents processed a Mexican national sentenced to two years’ incarceration in 2009 in Hidalgo County for sexual assault. He has also been sentenced to more than 12 years’ incarceration from multiple immigration arrests/offenses.

Also on May 3, Brownsville Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a Salvadoran national MS-13 gang member while MCS agents, the next day, arrested another Salvadoran national MS-13 gang member.

MCS agents arrested a Mexican national Paisa gang member with numerous convictions for violent and non-violent offenses on May 5. He has been sentenced to more than seven years’ incarceration for his crimes that include theft, indecent exposure, and resisting arrest.

All subjects were processed accordingly.
