INTERNATIONAL FALLS Minn. — On February 27, 2021, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a Border Patrol agent assigned to the International Falls Station responded to a call of a single snowmobile accident near Rainier Beach in Rainier, MN.
Upon arriving on scene, the agent located the accident victim in need of immediate medical attention. The agent began an expeditious assessment of the injured man who appeared to be suffering from a head injury. He then began providing first aid while maintaining constant verbal contact with the man until emergency medical services arrived on scene.
Once on scene EMS assumed care from the agent who then assisted in the transport of the victim via a medical sled to a waiting ambulance, for transport to a nearby hospital for further treatment and observation.
WARROAD Minn. — On February 27, 2021, at roughly 7:00 p.m., a Border Patrol agent assigned to the Warroad Station came upon a two vehicle accident along the Northwest Angle ice road which crosses Lake of the Woods connecting the Angle to the continental United States.
The Agent was able to provide first aid while relaying his exact location to responding units to Lake of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office and EMS who arrived on scene shortly thereafter.
Once local authorities arrived and assumed control of the scene, the agent assisted with transporting an EMT and the injured man to an awaiting fire department vehicle for further evaluation.
“Our agents are highly trained to respond to all types of situations,” said Grand Forks Sector Chief Patrol Agent Anthony S. Good. “Fortunately for the injured parties involved in these accidents our agents were there to assist them and get them the medical care they needed. We hope for a full recovery for both of them.”
